Usain Bolt in the 2008 Beijing Olympics
Oh My Goodness!!! How awesome is Usain Bolt?!?! That guy is on FIRE!!! 100m in 9.69s and 200m in 19.30s in 2008. He's the ninth person to win both the 100m and 200m sprint at the same Olympics, but it is much less commonplace now and the last time it was done was Carl Lewis in 1984 Los Angeles. Not only did Usain Bolt win both of the events, he broke the world record in each event. And of note is that Michael Johnson set the record of 19.32s in the 200m with a backing wind of 0.4m/s and Usain Bolt just set 19.30s for 200m with a head wind of 0.9m/s.
Usain Bolt is the fastest man ever to run. And I'm very proud to have watched both events (unfortunately I wasn't in Beijing myself, but tv definitely a good enough experience to never forget).
And Happy Birthday Usain Bolt. It is his 22nd birthday now, just a couple of hours after his 200m win.
